Born in 1982 and after spending his first 19 years in Louth, Lincolnshire, Ben moved to Leeds and soon became an integral part of the Leeds "live" music scene. Early musical influences included a wide range of genre including Blues, Country, Ragtime, Folk and Jazz, which resulted in a first venture with a guitar at the age of 15. Delving into the world of roots music lead Ben into playing not only fingerstyle guitar to an exceptional standard but also taking up lap slide guitar as well which never fails to impress live. His impressive playing style blending many different aspects of roots music coupled with the freedom and inspiration with jazz improvisation, resulted in requests to play at many festivals throughout the UK, where his own brand of bringing roots music up to date, gave audiences a fresh and unique experience and swelled his ever-increasing fan-base even further. 2012 will see Ben’s eagerly awaited debut EP released, which promises to take the listener on a Blues and Country journey of songs in Ben’s own inimitable style.
